Northwest Sky and Sunset on Sunday, August 1, 2010

What’s with the weird sky color today in the Northwest? Strange – but beautiful, today, the sun burned a strange, multi-hued glow through smoky skies during the afternoon. The sun looked a bit weird with the sunlight more of a brownish/ orange akin to a sunset than midday sunshine. It turned out, a decent plume from wildfires burning in inland British Columbia got caught up on the northerly flow and was pushed over Western Washington. Check out the pictures I took at the cottage this afternoon. We have never seen this one before at Olympic View Bed and Breakfast Cottage. Come stay with us and you will see many more ever-changing and first time sunsets.
